The islands in Puget Sound are home to one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world! Most of us choose to live here because we like being surrounded by nature and wildlife. Although Bainbridge Island is only a quick ferry ride from the big city, Bainbridge’s rural terrain allows wildlife to thrive. Here’s a rundown of some of the species you may encounter while visiting or living on Bainbridge Island.

The year 2017 was a remarkable year for me, both personally and professionally. I have been fortunate to meet and help many families in my community and that is the thing I love most about being a Realtor.
The Bainbridge Island Review Says "Realogics Sotheby's to Revive Old Hardware Store" After Four Years of Vacancy
As the news of Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty’s (RSIR) plans to consolidate their two Bainbridge Island offices into a new location at the Old Hardware Store in Winslow continues to spread, it has received much attention and excitement from the local community. This morning, it was featured in the Bainbridge Island Review, in a print article entitled “Realogics Sothebys to revive old hardware store” that described the history of the location, RSIR and Bruciato’s “living room” plans, and a vision for the future of Bainbridge Island.
In the article, Jessica Shelton describes the familiar image of Don Beemer who would “’roll the sidewalk out’ in front of Holger’s Hardware” every morning after “rubbing elbows” with the men of the town. After sitting vacant for over four years, RSIR and Bruciato signed long-term leases to share the space. As Shelton writes, “RSIR and Bruciato will have separate spaces, but they’ll also have a shared space. Architect Dana Webber has been working for months to create a community living room that will function as both a reception for the real estate brokerage and an expanded lounge for patrons of the restaurant.”
“Very exciting news!” said Bainbridge Island Office Manager Marliyn Turner of the feature. “We are growing and here to stay that’s for sure. I cannot wait to see those flags up and breathe new life into the Old Hardware Store location!”
Shelton also makes note of RSIR’s “Connoisseurs of Life Showroom” in Kirkland, where the boutique real estate brokerage partnered up with DeLille Cellars to create Maison DeLille, a wine lounge, at its storefront. Of the preliminary plans for Winslow Way, Shelton says there will be “a fireside library, an integrated showcase of properties and an art gallery” in order to create a community “living room” and accommodate RSIR events including food, wine and real estate pairings.
