The Magic of Aloha

Last month my wife and I took some time away from beautiful Kitsap County to visit friends and family in Hawaii. We had a wonderful trip full of golfing, hiking, and plenty of relaxing on pristine sandy beaches. Much of the time we spent on the island chain was on Kauai, which is Hawaii’s fourth largest island and is sometimes known as the “Garden Island.” Parts of the island (which is the oldest and northernmost island in the Hawaiian chain) is only accessible by sea or air and offers dramatically beautiful tropical rainforests, cascading waterfalls, and jagged cliffs aged by time and elements. A tropical paradise full of luscious landscapes and we loved every minute of our time there!

We especially enjoyed Kekaha Beach Park, which featured a long stretch of white sand beach. Located on the far west side of Kauai, it was great for catching the sunset. We were also enamored with Polihale State Park. Located right on the edge of several forest reserve areas, we traveled on a bit of a rough road to find it; but definitely well worth the trip. We managed to have the beach basically to ourselves and thoroughly enjoyed the easy waves, beautiful landscape, and soft sand.

I also had the great privilege of playing at Poipu Bay Golf Course during my stay on the island. Located next to the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and overlooks Makawehi Bluff on the southern end of the island. They pride themselves on being one of Hawaii’s best courses and I can say with confidence that it was one of the finest golf experiences I’ve ever had!

During our visit, we also enjoyed sampling tastes at Koloa Rum Company and an incredible meal at Merriman’s Kauai. My niece and nephew were happy to host us while we visited and I was pleased to join them because I had the honor of connecting them with an exceptional Sotheby’s real estate agent when they began their home search on this gorgeous island. Moksha McClure, an agent with Oceanfront Sotheby’s International Realty is a proponent of sustainability, eco-friendly building, and recycling; and is dedicated to making the world a better place. As a successful and savvy realtor, Moksha knows the island and its inventory well. She is a fierce negotiator, expert researcher and is truly dedicated to making a deal close. Moksha is an excellent listing agent and I trusted her dedication to helping my family find their dream home!

Being a part of the Sotheby’s International Realty organization means that I know I can refer my family and friends to a trusted real estate agent no matter where they are looking to buy or sell a home! Moksha’s kindness and passion for life have made her an excellent realtor and friend. Want to find your own slice of paradise? Here are two of Moksha’s current listings:
