Fort Ward
This stunning 137-acre marine park has 4,300 feet of saltwater shoreline along Rich Passage. Remnants can still be found throughout the fort which reflects its military history. With an underwater park for scuba divers and two-lane boat ramps, as well as campsites, there are plenty of ways to enjoy your time spent at Fort Ward.
Gazzam Lake Nature Preserve
Enjoy a 6.8-mile round trip through the meandering trail that leads through Bainbridge’s second-growth forest filled with red cedars and tall grass fields. As you reach the end of the trail you’ll arrive on the rocky, scenic shores. We hope you’ll enjoy the view!
Grant Forest
Encompassing 240 acres with approximately eight miles of trails, Grant Forest is composed of grounds that are protected through the Bainbridge Island Land Trust campaign. As you journey through the trails, you’ll find yourself surrounded by a lush canopy of fir trees, cedars, and maples. Flat trails with low incline make this a family-friendly option to enjoy some time spent in nature.

Accessible to all, the Bloedel Reserve was founded on the concept that everyone should have access to the refreshing and tranquil presence of natural beauty. The Bloedel Reserve consists of 150 acres of forest gardens.
